Of course, one of the most iconic moments in the whole series is when Katniss Everdeen shocks her district, and the whole of Panem, by volunteering herself as tribute so that she can take her younger sister Prim’s place in the bloodthirsty competition.
We still can’t watch this scene without getting goosebumps, as it is a pretty powerful moment—but suddenly we realized, why is everyone else so shocked?
We wonder if, throughout the whole existence of Panem and the Hunger Games, no one has ever thought of volunteering themselves before?
